Bang: A Child at Risk for Being Trafficked
Thirteen-year-old Bang is in grave danger … and she doesn’t even know it. What’s worse, the danger is getting closer.
She lives in a desperately poor village in Laos, just a few miles from the Thai border. Thailand is a hub for human trafficking, where evil men entice young girls like Bang with offers of good paying work and money.
Bang is an easy target for traffickers. Both she and her 14-year-old sister Phou dropped out of school in the 5th grade to help their disabled father support the family by working in the rice field.
These girls have no idea what human trafficking is, or the danger that awaits them just across the border.
Together, we can make sure Bang and others know about the criminals who will no doubt come to their village, preying on their gullibility with offers of easier work and more money.
Together, we can help them get back in school, where they are safe and learning things that will truly lead to a brighter future.
