Call to Pray for Haiti

World Concern is calling on supporters, friends, partners, the global church and others to pray for Haiti. Haiti has experienced increasing violence as gangs control most urban neighborhoods. A fuel shortage has halted transportation and led to the closure of numerous hospitals that cannot find fuel to run generators needed to operate. The political system has collapsed.

Additionally, the southern peninsula of Haiti was also devastated by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake on Aug. 14, 2021, pushing the disaster-stricken island nation further into crisis. Some affected areas are still waiting for aid, and rebuilding efforts have been hindered by the problems.

“The situation in Haiti is deteriorating daily,” expressed World Concern President, Nick Archer. “People in Haiti talk about things being ‘the worst they have seen in living memory.’ We need to pray and ask God to move in the midst of the chaos and strengthen His church to be the light that the nation of Haiti needs.”

Please join us in praying for Haiti throughout the week of November 14-20, 2021. Below are some themes, prayer requests, and verses World Concern headquarters and global staff will be focusing on each day.
