Emurua Elerai

Kenya

This is Emurua Elerai

Emurua Elerai is a village of about 1,080 people located southwest of Nairobi. The village has plenty of clean river sand, a stone quarry, shrubs and bushes ideal for goat farming and cultivating natural herbs, and fertile soil.

The people earn an income by raising zebu cows, sheep, and goats, growing maize and beans, poultry keeping, and beekeeping. Some are skilled carpenters, tailors, dress makers, bead workers, and honey processors.

Emurua Elerai is challenged by an unreliable water supply that puts them and their livestock at risk during drought. Women walk a long distance to get water each day, and the nearest health clinic is far away. There is a danger of elephants and zebras destroying their crops and harming them.

The families of Emurua Elerai Village are ready for change. With your support, they will experience lasting transformation and a bright future for themselves and the next generation.
