Located in the western part of South Sudan, the Jur River region is made up of 760 households. While this area remains a peaceful community, the people who call it home face extreme challenges and must survive without access to clean water or proper nutrition.
Families lack access to education and healthcare. Without a well-equipped hospital nearby, villagers must travel up to twelve miles to receive treatment for serious illness or injury, and the school is both far away and ill-equipped to support the many children who call this region home. In fact, most children stay at home until they are grown enough to attend school further away.
