World Concern directly works in ten countries around the world. We are called to serve in some of the poorest, most remote communities in the world. Places with little or no infrastructure or resources to help the people who live there. Places that many ignore or deem unworthy because the need is too great.
We recognize that nothing is impossible to the Lord. He created these people, and He has abundant life for them. As we partner with them, they are empowered to recognize their own resources to reach goals that lead to sustainable change. This strengthens the core of people, families, and communities. With the needs of survival met, people are free to dream of more and to consider the bigger questions of life. That is when the true transformation begins.

World Concern began working in Uganda in 1993, opening the Goli Health Clinic in partnership with the Kuluva Hospital and the Nebbi Diocese. In 2017, World Concern’s partnership with the Nebbi Diocese launched a multi-year, multi-sector integrated development program, One Village Transformed, which supports holistic transformation at household and community levels.
When a community partners with us, we meet with its leaders and listen to their goals, identify their needs, and uplift the existing resources to make a plan for sustainable transformation. From leadership training to meeting needs for clean water, adequate nutrition, and medical care, we support the community as it implements sanitation and hygiene practices that support good health, protection and education for their children, and Savings & Loan groups that empower families financially. As sustainable change takes root, real transformation takes place.
